THE VALLÉE DE LA CHIMIE TASK FORCE

To initiate the economic transformation of the Vallée, ensure an improved quality of life and develop the attractiveness of the southern part of the Lyon Metropole, the Vallée de la Chimie Task Force is piloting the territory’s master plan until 2030.

The team brings together 10 major industrial companies, the Prefecture, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and the Rhône-Alpes Chemical Industry Union in a partnership charter carrying its strategic vision. The Reference Master Plan, developed by OMA / BASE / Suez Consulting, provides 6 intervention axes serving 2 strategic objectives. With a strong ambition: bringing innovation to life together.

Strategic objective n°1
Supporting the transformation of the industrial platform

This first objective requires a diversification of the traditional chemical sector and the creation of integrated and complementary value chains.

Strategic objective n°2:
mproving the living and working environment and increase the area’s appeal

In order to transform the landscape, identify and act on nuisances, develop an economical and efficient habitat regarding risks, improve mobility options for both residents and employees, and to preserve, enhance and reveal the territory’s resources, etc., the Lyon Vallée de la Chimie stakeholders explore a variety of concrete actions and cultivate the local participatory dynamics that abound with initiatives to feed 3 main projects:

renovating 5,000 private homes as part of France’s largest Technological Risk Prevention Plan (PPRT)

planning of public spaces serving sustainable connected mobility

protecting and promoting the territory’s rich natural and cultural heritage
